Danebank School

'That I May Serve'

An Anglican school for girls from Pre-K (4 year olds) to Year 12, Danebank aims to graduate academically skilled, confident and compassionate young women who are ready to contribute to society. Founded in 1933, Danebank is a non-selective school and has a long history of providing a nurturing and challenging environment that encourages students to reach their potential. HSC results are excellent and recent results have 98% qualifying for degree courses. Danebank has been described in the media as the best non-selective school in the St George and Sutherland Shires.

Every Danebank student is introduced to the Christian faith through the teaching of the Bible and the practical experience of Christian care. A strong Christian education program is established, including weekly chapel services, complemented by a network of fellowship groups in the Junior and Senior Schools.

The school maintains a strong focus on developing students' creative and communication skills through a range of teaching subjects. Extra Curricular programs, such as debating, mock trials, drama performances, eisteddfods and the Duke of Edinburgh Award program, contribute to the development of articulate and confident young women.

Danebank provides a wide range of highly successful sporting activities, with participants achieving elite levels in basketball, netball, hockey, swimming, athletics, gymnastics, tennis, cricket, water polo and cross country. Recent dragon boating teams have competed internationally.

Facilities are excellent and include a Performing Arts Centre, Aquatic Centre, Gymnasium, Resources Centre, Wingara Senior Studies Centre and a Technology and Creative Arts based centre called The Terraces.

Danebank's strong focus on service encourages students to care for one another, to act as a team. Students are also encouraged to respond to the needs of others in the wider community through service learning and community service programs.
