Claremont College

Since 1882 We've Stood O' er Looking Oceans Blue

Claremont College is a thriving co-educational primary school and one of the oldest schools in Australia. At Claremont we are passionate about children, their learning and education. It is our task to equip boys and girls for a future of great purpose and success in all of life’s opportunities and complexities.

Within a caring and supportive Christian environment, we provide students with rich and deep learning experiences, which focus on the thinking and learning skills needed to be a life long learner. Our research-based, co-teaching pedagogy and our newly refurbished flexible spaces engage students to learn, develop and grow. This approach to education enables the teachers to work in grade teams to allow for greater attention to the varying needs of all students. The comprehensive Kindergarten to Year 6 curriculum package includes specialist teachers in the areas of Asian languages, Library, Physical Education, Music and Learning Support.

We make student pastoral care a priority because we believe that happy children enjoy school and cope better in a variety of situations. Through structured social skills and peer support programs, and the explicit teaching of bully awareness, cyber safety and personal problem solving, we are equipping our students for life.

Claremont College is an Anglican school with a distinctly Christian emphasis. Through school assemblies, Christian Studies and the examples of Christian staff, children gain an understanding of Christ’s love and care for them in every aspect of their lives.
